But, also come and spend some time in our succulent gardens above our nursery, where you will sometimes find some rare and unusual succulents growing! For those succulent fanatics (who normally like to steal / borrow their clippings from the roadside or unsuspecting friends … he he 🙂 we sell succulent ‘Clipping Bags’ so that you can go and take clippings of any plants that suite your fancy in our extensive succulent gardens! We have also made some garden design landscaping displays (mainly to show our capabilities in landscaping for our Love Landscapes landscaping clients. But, also great to give you ideas for your own garden designs.
We try to show you the true potential of these amazing hardcore plants, which I call ‘Survival Experts‘ due to their amazing ability to hold life in their leaves or stems for many months before needing to put down roots to find the soil.
We have done many tests, and this is the main reason we sell ‘Succulent Clippings‘ on our online shopping site (GardenGoods.co.za.) Because, you can cut a piece of these amazing succulents / vetplante, and it will stay alive for many months, whilst going through the postal system possibly, before you need to plant it into soil. In fact, there is a good chance that if the delay is too long, this succulent / vetplant cutting will already have roots before it even arrives at your home!
“My own (me being Ryan Hermanson, founder of Labyrinth Nursery) experience with these amazing plants is endless, but I’ll tell you one little story that explains the magic that succulents possess… as a hobby, but possibly more than that one day, I have been making my own wooden / concrete succulent plant pots (to help me get over my divorce)… at first, I would plant succulent clippings in these pots with the intent on selling them as I made them… but it occurred to me to possibly make my range of pots first before adding plants to them… so I took out all of the succulent clippings and soil from the 10 or 15 pots that I had already planted, and left the succulent clippings on my glass patio table outside… after 3 months now… those succulent clippings are still alive on my glass table… some of them have roots (some not)… but all of them are still alive and their leaves are all pointing upwards towards the light… they have had no soil or fertilizer or water, yet they are holding onto life like true ‘Survival Experts‘… and this makes me fall in love with them and indeed God’s creation even more!”
